How To Keep A Notebook

ffluffy's picture

This first picture shows how to setup your notebook. The idea is that information given to you in a class goes on the right side, it is called 'input' and includes notes, courses, etc. After you process the information, ask questions of yourself, think about it, internalize it, etc. you write about it on the left side of your notebook as 'output'. This helps students grow, own the learning process, etc.

The picture below is my 'electronic' copy of an actual page from my notebook. Note Olga's 'brickwall'.

notebook how to

This is an actual page from my notebook. It is messy, it is colorful, it is mine. I use different color pens and stickers and have fun with my notebook. (I bring stickers and candy to class and reward everyone who has their notebook. I'm such the teacher...)

Have fun with your notebook. Personalize it!

notebook

When watching the online video lessons. I find it very handy to take notes and keep them in a notebook like ffluffy (Alicia Nicholas) does.

With the idea being, later when you do your homework with your dog, you can refer to the notes as you work through the exercises. And make more notes during your work session on things to ask about back at Agility Dynamite.

virtual notebook = blog

Hi Elizabeth,

That would be your blog section. I would love to see students publish their notebook as a blog here on TNT. This way I can monitor your progress better and you will aquire discipline to make your notebook entries. Give it a shot.

P.S.: yes, I do check my students' notebooks in class, ;-)..

Olga's brickwall

Olga's brickwall is a reminder to us not to give up.  She said it one time during a lesson.  "Don't hit the wall"
