
Running contacts or quick release?

Alicia,
I notice that you normally do a full stop 2O2O with Pickle but quick released at the nationals. Do you practice the quick release? How? Do you wait until the front feet hit the dirt or wait until you see a foot in the yellow? How frequently would you practice a quick release vs. a hold? I'm trying to decide whether to switch to running or not. I'd like to on the aframe simply to preserve her shoulders from wear and tear but, because I don't own equipment or have access to contacts very often, I think training a running contact would be too difficult. Just curious whether you feel this makes or breaks how competitive you are or not - obviously it didn't hurt you and Pickle!
