Turns out of tunnels

Last week I was working a weave pole entry exercise with Phoenix. It called for a tight turn out of a straight tunnel into the weaves. The first couple of tries, despite me yelling right, right, she went about 10 feet passed the end of the tunnel before turning, maybe more! So, I tried rewarding and throwing her toy a couple of times by my leg where I wanted her to turn. This helped but didn't really get her to check her stride in the tunnel. Finally I tried telling her long before she entered the tunnel what direction she was turning - EUREKA! She made the tightest turn possible after a couple of tries. I worked it again last night - I say "through, right" and she is coming out turning the correct direction. It amazes me that she can remember, even in a tunnel that changes direction (last night it was an S shape) that the direction comes after completing the tunnel and can remember the correct direction. Does anyone else give there directionals before entering a tunnel? The one thing I've figured out is that she can't hear me when she is in the tunnel so I might as well save my breath.
