lesson 5 spacing

Happy new year!

I am finally home and plan to set up the sequence for lesson 5 tonight and run them tomorrow am. All my single wingless jumps are 4' wide (not 5'). Should I tighten up the spacing for Pippen (14" jumping 16"??) or should I rejoice that I have a shorter strided dog who will be able to straighten up his own lines????

Re: lesson 5 spacing

II am not sure what Olga will say,but I set it up before the maps were up and had the spacing at 15". It made a big diffrence when I then used the 18' spacing per the maps. For one thing, I had to move a lot faster.

Re: lesson 5 spacing

Hi jean!! happy new year!

Your labs probably have a nice big stride in comparison to my terriers! I think I will probably just set it up as close to the map as possible but err on the side of being a little too tight. Don't know how much of a difference 4' v 5' jump bars will make!!! but I suspect looking at the courses that I will have to h-a-! elizabeth

Re: lesson 5 spacing

My wingless are 4' as well and i had to use one with wings so made that 4.'

AKC requires a min. of 18' to a  single jump so for me it was better to get the feel of how fast I have to run ( and think!) to keep up on a regular course. My timing is the biggest issue in learning to dance with Bailey.

Stay warm,

Jean
