front cross at end of weave poles

My second question relates to burst of speed with Pickle. It looks like you are asking Alicia to run to a position at the end of the weave poles, wait for her dog then pull the dog past her .... to launch the dog toward the next obstacle. If you are able to get far enough ahead of the dogs in the weave poles would you not achieve the same launching effect if you were already turned (as a stick figure) by the time the dog reached the last pole? My dogs have to 2 foot the weave poles at (21inches on center) due to their size so I can easily get ahead of them. I will also try to get this on video as I suspect the words are not enough. I enjoyed the first lesson!!

answer from Olga:

As far as the end of weave poles' front cross, it is most essential, if you run to the end of the weaves ahead of your dog, to support the dog's weaving effort by maintaining the direction of the dog's progress, and as the dog finishes weaving, execute the turn in sync with the dog, providing teamwork and thus achieving the coveted "burst of speed".

In general, please try to synchronize your handling with your dog's performance. You will gain great trust from your agility partner which will result in faster and happier runs.

synchronizing handling with performance

you suggest supporting the dogs effort of weaving by maintaining the direction of progress then handling the turn 'in sync' with the dog....

Do you find this to be true generally?? I mean you support the dogs efforts by facing in the direction of progress then timing any turning cues to be in sync with the dog?? do you use a pre cue??
