Frequently Asked Questions

Why and when is VideoEgg ending its video upload and streaming
service?

- Over the past twelve months, VideoEgg has become a leading video
advertising network in addition to a content hosting/streaming partner
for community websites. We have decided to focus on video and rich
media monetization technologies, and therefore are no longer investing
in the video platform side of the business. Therefore, we are trying
to consolidate our relationships with profitable large partners and
focusing on creating higher value ad solutions for brands.

The last day for VideoEgg’s video streaming service is May 31, 2008.

What about video that is currently embedded on my blog or other sites?

- Once your videos are removed from our servers, embedded video
functionality will also be discontinued and a corresponding message
will be displayed."

End of email.

I have just enabled embedded videos from youtube and blip.tv. And you can see the Ghost Dog video that is embedded in this post from blip.tv. You just copy and paste the embed code into the video field of a forum topic. Pretty easy.

Re: No more VideoEgg

Thanks Eric for providing another solution. I am not sure where I get the code? Do we start the new method right away or do we wait until the end of May?

You have done a wonderful job with this site!

Re: No more VideoEgg

I think YouTube would be easiest, I think you just use the url of your video, you get it from the address bar in your browser.

Should look like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aMScPlJX5g, cope and paste that into the video field.

Probably should start sooner rather than later, because VideoEgg is deleting all videos come May 31, 2008.

Re: No more VideoEgg

Youtube is very easy. Once you upload,it gives you the url right next to your video to cut and paste. We dont earn user points for posting links instead of uploading directly. You also will get a very poor quality video unless you use something like Windows Movie Maker, instead of directly uploading to Youtube.

Cheers,

Jean

Re: No more VideoEgg

I uploaded a video to YouTube last night and then put the link in my post about Jaldi's teeter retraining. It worked fine. I did use Movie Maker to save the video to my computer first. I think the quality looks about the same as I got with Video Egg.
