AKC Invitational '07: Virtual Classmate Tim Humphrey and his Boxer Kala are in the Finals!
Hurray!
Tim and Kala made it into the finals at the AKC Invitational second year in a row!
Tim and Kala had 4 perfect clear rounds and are in 5th position going into the finals in the 24" class! Congratulations to them both!
Sue and Becky are with Tim in Long Beach, so we can be expecting a blow by blow report and maybe even a video of Kala's stellar performance.
Best of luck in the Finals this evening, Tim and Kala Humphrey! Go get them, guys!

Just heard from Sue:
Tim and Kala finished 5th in the Finals! Now that's an impressive showing!
And Kala is ranked 3rd in the Working Group.

I had the pleasure of watching Tim and Kala's run in the finals and it was beautiful. It was very smooth and Tim paid attention to every inch of the course, running it in his usual manner. I don't know if he was nervous, but he appeared very focused.

The weaves to the three staggered jumps to the correct entrance of the tunnel was quite tricky and was handled many different ways, some not very successful, especially a back cross behind the jump just before tunnel which lead to a dog walk off course for some teams and near off course misses for others. With the handler running on the A frame side of the jumps, some dogs went into the wrong tunnel entrance or had near misses. The most successful was a front cross between the first and middle jump.
Hurray for Tim and Kala! Five clean runs!!!
