Student Video - Jaldi Performance Speed Jumping

There was a USDAA trial last weekend in Tucson. Since I was the show chair and my club gives me free entries to the show, I entered Jaldi in every class that didn't (or probably wouldn't) have a teeter. So we ran Gamlbers, Snooker, Jumpers, Relay, and PSJ. Jaldi is in P1 in all runs. She Q'd in Relay and Jumpers. This video is Round 1 of Performance Speed Jumping. There were about 130 dogs entered between Stpl and PSJ. We went tall to small to Jaldi was near the end. I watched dog after dog after dog pop the 10th weavepole. Why? Many were very experienced dogs. The handler fading over towards the next jump should not have caused them a problem, yet they popped. I don't have video of the popping. I just have Jaldi's beautiful, perfect video. Can you tell I'm a proud mom?
The second entrance to the weave poles was reminiscent of Lesson 19 Ex 3. I saw one handler do the FX/RX manuever. That was Roger Coor with Moso. Since we hadn't tried Ex 3, yet, I did not attempt it in this run with Jaldi. However, we tried Ex 3 tonight at home and Jaldi was not phased at all! However, I think it slowed her down a tad.
There were at least 8 Q's in 12" PSJ Round 1. Half of them were Border Terriers. Of course, I'm not bragging about the breed. We got 4th place in Round 2. I think I handled a little too conservatively. No video as there was a videographer malfunction for Round 2.

Re: Student Video - Jaldi Performance Speed Jumping
Hearty congrats, Val and Jaldi! I am so proud of you both!
All the hard work you've done with Jaldi's weave poles.. you can tell she is weaving with speed, joy and confidence.
You look very sure of yourself piloting Jaldi around the course and Jaldi has full attention on her performance. Great run throughout!
I am yet to watch your video of L-19 Ex.3, but FX/RX combo at the weaves is surely a very valuable asset to have. So keep practicing it and rewarding the dog.. and you'll feel the result in the dog's speed and confidence once you guys master the move..
