lesson 13 seq 2

I set up the lesson 13 sequence (2) and ran it with Shadow (Pip needs another adjustment so I am trying to get him to rest!). The first attempt I bought the off course tunnel in my attempt to get the second set of weaves. That is a long way to hold on to their head. It felt very 'snookerish'. The next time I tried it we were fine as I used 'with me' to keep her from locking on to the first piece of equipment she saw. She sent very well to the tunnel (as she should, we have been practicing the tunnel and table sends). The a frame didn't appear to come into play at all. Bars stayed up. I was very pleased. I hope I can run Pippen on it in a day or 2. If not I will Video Shadow and Wisp playing Teeter and table. .................elizabeth

Re: lesson 13 seq 2

Elizabeth,

It's too bad that Pippen can't run the exercise with you. Hope he comes back to play shortly. But I am thrilled that you got Shadow to do it. Why no video?

Getting to the second set of the weaves shouldn't feel, as you put it, "snookerish". You should run with.. what's that popular word to describe it?.. ahh! INTENT and drive to the weaves. Way hard to do with a mini. A mini dog can change direction every stride they take.. and they take a great many strides, ;-).. It's a test of your dog's resolve. Seeking the weaves on the verbal cue "Weave!" also helps.

I am happy to read about Shadow sending to the tunnel with great cheer. Must have been lovely..

Do post videos, please. That pertains to all of you, guys, including the ones that never do, ;-)..

Olga.
