Student Video Bailey JWW
We had a good JWW run today. At 5. 28 yps it was a personal best for an AKC JWW course. Reviewing the tape I can see I had plenty of time to do front crosses along the back side of the course. I am not sure if front crosses would have given us a tighter line. . assuming my timing was good LOL.
I stopped our STD run because Bailey didnt stop for his contact on the DWÂ (Tire, DW. tunnel) and I felt I had to make a point since it is a "only at trial issue." I have ho idea if he cared about going to his x-pen without a treat.

I am not sure if FX's would have provided a better handling solution. Looked fine as is to me, ;-)..
As far as taking Bailey out of the ring and sticking him into the x-pen without a treat.. I don't have a foggiest idea if he cared.. probably not, ;-).
P.S.: I was talking to someone at the trial today and he was saying that he taught his dog to jump cleanly by teaching a command "No bar!". So his dog jumps and clears the bars if he gives this command. I inquired if the dog would knock a bar if he'd tell her "Bar!".. We laughed hard.. He is a computer person and knows all about ones and zeros..

While he was saying 'no bar', I could be standing on my head for the weaves lol.
I don't think Bailey noticed the run was cut sort either,he happily bounced all the way back to his x-pen. sigh.
We had a similar set up for the opening of Sat. STD run which i will post.As you see he doesn't hold for the 2o2o off until the DW. He is too fast for me to mark with a whoops.
 We have spent a lot of practice sessions on the DW shuffle from lesson 17 in the last 2 weeks. I also have used tugging on the contact and throwing a toy and having him hold until released. He may self release once at practice but then will wait for a release for the rest of the session.
I am not sure what else to do. One thing I havent done is stop the practice session and put him in the x-pen while I work Kody. That might get the point across. Â

Ahh,
Bailey is really getting into it, ;-).. Means Jean must be handling with more courage and forward drive.
I'll take a look at your video of the Standard run.. Stand by.
