Lesson 15 Pinwheel

Here is a video of our efforts on the Pinwheel exercise.  I thought Libby and Belle did very well.  Dusty's finish to the tire improved dramatically from last night (basically because I remembered to not get in so close at the first jump in the straight away finish that I had to move laterally to avoid the wing of the second to last jump).  However, I did have problems with Dusty missing a jump in the pinwheel because he came in toward me.

Lesson 15, Exercise 1 All My Dogs

I had enough time to set the course and watch the first two videos and then go out and run all four of my dogs.  What a great way to build speed and enthusiasm in the dogs.  I started working with Max again about three weeks ago, just doing a little here and there with him.  It was very difficult for me to run Max when we were trialing because he was so easily distracted.  I decided to work with him again to see if I could improve my training skills.  This sequence contains more jumps in a row than he has done in three years, and he seemed to enjoy himself thoroughly.

Belle - Lesson 14 Tunnel Maze

Lastly, here’s baby Belle running the tunnel maze.  I was surprised at the difficulty we encountered doing a post turn after 5.  Belle kept reading my handling as a rear cross.  I’m not quite sure why since neither Libby nor Dusty had that particular problem.  Afterwards, Belle and I worked on this in isolation.

Lesson 4 - Jump Box Exercise

I meant to set up Lesson 3 today--I even built a triple for it last night.  However, I grabbed the sheets for Lesson 4 this morning, not remembering I had meant to set up Lesson 3.  Anyway, this is footage of all three of my dogs running the 3-jump box exercise.  I "cheated" a little by working just the 3-jump box with each dog before running this exercise so they would have a clue about wrapping a wing.

Lesson 2 - Belle

Here is Baby Belle doing the balance of Lesson 2 that we didn’t get to yesterday.  I was expecting to have a much more difficult time of the doing the box using rear crosses, but she read them pretty well.

Lesson 2, Exercises 1 & 2 - Dusty, Libby and Belle

I think Spring might finally be here in the Midwest.  Everything is wet and there’s lot’s of mud in the yard where the dogs run along the fence.  I decided to move all the agility equipment to another section of my field to give the grass a chance to repair itself where we were tearing it up last week.  I set up Lesson 2 and ran Dusty, Libby and Belle on Exercises 1 and 2.

Lesson 10, Exercise 2 - Belle

This is my baby dog's debut.  Belle will be one in about 2.5 weeks.  This is the longest sequence she has run so far.
