lesson 11

Lesson 11

This is the complete set of exercises and videos that make up Agility Dynamite Video Lesson 11.

Lesson 11 features a very compact setup of 8 jumps (and that includes the tire). There is a tunnel on the course, but there are no weave poles. The absence of the weave poles creates a special difficulty of handling without a break. No rest for the wicked, ;-).. We do have an A-Frame in this lesson for added practice. There is a ton of very detailed instruction of what to do how to do it for every sequence.

Wrinkles lesson 11 and aframe

Wrinkles running I think exercise 1 and 3 from Lesson 11. Also, we worked on his running (moving) aframe. He really seems to like it. I also ran Bailey in one of the sequences. Thanks Jean for letting us come by!

Phoenix & Xena, Lesson 11, Exercise 4

The backing up seemed especially useful for the last 3 obstacles of this sequence.  Really worked to pull them off the tunnel and then off the off course jump.  It is a weird feeling not knowing whether you are backing up in the right direction.

Phoenix & Xena, Lesson 11, Exercise 3

I don't know if our set up was exact or not, but i found that a f/c before the double or a lead out inviting the dog into your right side worked better, particularly for Xena, to get more drive to the tunnel.  I tried to do 2 f/c's after the aframe instead of a r/c with Xena but the 2nd one was late, may have still been faster though.  I don't think I could get there with Phoenix.

Phoenix & Xena,Lesson 11, Exercise 2

I couldn't remember when Gerhard and I were out at the barn whether Olga suggested a f/c after the double the 2nd time on the way to the last 2 jumps.  I tried it both ways.  The backing up at jump # 6 worked very well to get a tight turn.  I think I was going too far in to jump # 8 and making the turn back to the double harder.  It would have been a lot worse without the barn wall!  The walls are my friend ;).  We did have a slightly condensed version of the lesson as the barn is only about 65 feet wide.  It was especially challenging with the tire only about 10 ft from the wa

I actually found the turn from the double to be more difficult than I expected.  Going in to jump # 8 on the angle as Olga suggested seemed to work to get a nicer turn for both dogs.  I am having a hard time transitioning between my two dogs.  I have to remember to drive more with Xena and not to lead out so much.

lesson11 seq 1 shadow

I thought I would try more of a lateral lead with shadow and go for the front cross at the 4th jump from the landing side.  It produced a relatively good line but it was difficult to move backward around the jumps in the center of the pinwheel.  I suspect it will be a little harder with Pippen ...elizabeth

Lesson 11 # 3 Kody

Short and sweet....to drive Kody thru the pinwheel, I have to be slightly behind to keep him out
