Xena - Lesson 9

This is Xena doing lesson 9.  As predicted, because of her dislike for tunnels, she was much better sending to the table than the tunnel.  However, she did not do well holding her down on the table, she never released herself but apparently she prefers a sit on the table.  AAC has now made the table optional in masters so we virtually NEVER see it because, as you can imagine, the time saved in a standard run with no table is HUGE! The only time my dogs see it in a trial is when there is not electronic timing and it is used to stop the time on a gamble.

Phoenix - Lesson 9

We had more problems than I expected with the sends.  To the tunnel was pretty easy but she lost her resolve at the table a few times. In the last 2 exercises, the guy who is filming me is sitting on the table with his dog so I really wasn't expecting her to drive to it.  I found there was so much stuff in the lesson I just did a few bits and pieces, knowing I probably wouldn't get a chance to set it up again.  It felt rushed and I would really like to revisit it sometime.

Lesson 9 Pippen , sendaway to the tunnel

Pippen had trouble maintaining speed to the tunnel when I was positioned between the 3 and the final jump before the tunnel.  When I just sent to the tunnel with a restrained start he was fine.  When I added 1 jump with the restrained start he started to waiver a little.  Clearly a long term project! ...elizabeth

Bailey crashing and burning thru the 270

We need big help. I would have handled this by leading out with Bale on my right and stepping into the pocket of the 270 and then bringing him around using left arm across body  and then sending to the weaves on my right Hand. I tried doing it the way you are doing on the video lesson. . By the time I got out to practice, may have missed somethings. I am also not sure of the spacing. Seems like a big space to get the dog around without coming in.

Cheers,

Jean

Lesson 9 Emmy 270

Emmy does not know her 270's so we had to start small---the first time we tried it she just about took out the red jump.  I was momentarily stunned when she made the weave entrance.  :-)

Lesson 9 Emmy

These were our first 3 attempts at this exercise.  This girl makes me laugh---I was not expecting her to come bounce-jumping towards me!   We used 15' spacing between the jumps.  Should we have used 20?  I found this drill quite challenging.  We are adopting Olga's table methods, and have not worked a lead-out/send at quite this distance.   So much to remember.  :-)

Olga---Emmy has a very long stride.  Is the bounce jump a problem?  Would really appreciate your  input.

Lesson 9 Bailey

No problems with the send for my obstacle  focused boy. Its  hard to keep voice conversational at a distance.

Cheers,

Jean

Lesson 9 Kody

This is definitely the lesson for Kody aka Mr. Velcro. It has been awhile since we have done any distance work and it was beginning to show in trials. I have to run every inch of the course with him. Yesterday I could barely get him to send over 3 jumps without turning back to me.
