Phoenix, lesson 18, exercise 4

This is Phoenix doing exercise 4. I thought she did really well although I felt my course was a little condensed compared to Olga's. Not sure if it just feels that way because its inside or what???

Phoenix goes MADC!

Phoenix got her MADC this weekend and it was a great run with a couple of wide turns but all in all I  was very proud of her.  The jump wrap after the tire with a looming tunnel trap only worked because of the secret "claw"! lol  Thanks Olga!

We still have a lot of work but things are coming together slowly!

Phoenix - PAC Sep 07 - Std

Here is Phoenix at the trial last weekend.  We can't buy a Q in anything we actually need for an ATChC but we continue to get lots of Q's in Steeplechase, Gamblers and Snooker, lol! In fact, she had a 55 and what would have been a 59 if we had got the last contact! urghhh!

Phoenix - Lesson 17, Exercise 1 & 2

Unfortunately by the time somebody arrived to film us Phoenix was already spent and although she did really well by the time we video taped her runs you can tell she was too hot and tired so we quit.  As I said I found that working the exit side (side closest to the poles) of the 2nd serpentine in exercise 2 worked well for both of my dogs. As long as you could send to the wingless jump, it wasn't too hard to get into position and stay in front of the dog.

Phoenix - AKC Nationals Final Course

We decided to set up the AKC Nationals Final course.  It was a lot of fun.  I missed the first four obstacles on video the first go round.  I obviously need to practice Phoenix tolerating my motion at the teeter without coming off.  Also, as you can see we struggle with rear crosses if I encroach on her space at all.  We also had to substitute a jump for the chute as we don't have one at the barn.  After we ran this I had my classes run it as an AKC FAST course - that's a really fun game and the students enjoyed it a lot.

Shameless brag - BC/Yukon Regionals!

Wow, what a great weekend we had at the AAC BC/Yukon Regionals but boy was it hot for around here! Temperatures went from the low teens all the way to the high 20's in a couple of days and neither dogs nor handlers had time to adapt. (for those of you on the farenheidt system that's the high 80's).

Phoenix & Xena,Lesson 14, Full Course

This is both dogs doing the full course.  Actually I found this one to be the easiest of the three.  Xena had a little touble with me layering the 2nd tunnel but that was just me not telling her soon enough.  I tried the serpentine after the weaves from both sides but it worked better on the landing side for both my dogs.
