weave poles

Student Video

Hi.Olga,

Rod's agility is accurate and loyal to my directions. He rarely fails in weave poles. He sometimes gets one-stride with the last three to four poles. At times his speed differs. If you have any advice about his weave pole, please let me know.Is there any way to keep his speed and form stable? Is it necessary for him to do so?I do not stick at all to speed. I want to make weave poles easier for him to do.Sometimes I think that his way of using legs is clumsy.

Jaldi - Weave pole entries

I am adding a jump to my weave pole entry practice. In this video we are at about 7 o'clock. I am using the recall, run with, send strategy. During the run with portion I'm adding front and rear crosses. Next session we will try 5 o'clock, which I expect to be a bit more difficult since Jaldi seems to have more problems finding the entry from that side. Val

weave poles

I have a question about weave poles. For a small
dog like Treena, would it be harmful (i.e. not a good
idea) to practice her on a set of weave poles with a
3/4" PVC base? My feeling is that it may not be a
good idea as she would have to be clearing the height
of the base.

front cross at end of weave poles

My second question relates to burst of speed with Pickle. It looks like you are asking Alicia to run to a position at the end of the weave poles, wait for her dog then pull the dog past her .... to launch the dog toward the next obstacle.Â

Weave poles - baby dog

This is a video of Olga working with a young Border Collie learning the weave poles. The dog is starting to learn the idea behind the poles, which is to weave.
