AKC Invitational

Rats, I was there on Saturday and didnt see Tim or Sue. I would have loved to see them run and film it. I went to see the labradors who were all in the 20" jump height this year.

I filmed Paul Young who is the breeder of Baileys line...Limecreek Labs.  3 of the 4 labs entered were from his kennel. Paul is 71 years old and has Parkinsons which has left him with a limp and the use of only one arm. They are an inspirational team to watch and a great example of using every tool in your box, inspite of the current fads. The crowd gasped when Paul used his arm behind his back out of the weaves. I think Olga would have liked it. LOL.

Cheers,

Jean

Wow ! That was very inspirational!  Thanks Jean.  He handles better with one arm than I do with two, lol!

Way to go, Mr. Paul Young!

The weave poles exit blind cross signal is awesome and so is the DW exit!

He doesn't run like a handicapped person, but handles aggressively and is very decisive. And what a great team mate he has in this black lab! What's the doggy's name, Jean?

Olga.

Re: AKC Invitational

She is Mach Lime Creek's Little Bit  "Bit".

When I laughingly told Paul, at my age, I might have one more lab in my life,  he told me her  interesting history. When her litter was born, Paul had not planned on keeping any, he was in his 60s,as well. Bit was the runt of the litter and very shy.

She was placed with a top agility competitor, who after a few weeks was concerned that Bit would be too fearful to enjoy agility. Paul asked to have her back and she proved to be a wonderful partner, who did not show any fear issues. "It was ment to be" in his words. No refection on the person who returned her....

Cheers,

Jean

Fabulous video, Jean.  Paul is really an inspiration.  I'm so glad you were able to capture his run to share!
