Dusty, Libby and I went to Des Moines St. Pat’s weekend for a three-day trial.  Dusty and Libby both completed their Open JWW titles on Friday, and Libby finished her Open Standard title on Sunday.  I decided to group the video clips by class and dog.  Unfortunately, I was so excited about running in Excellent JWW on Saturday that I forgot to get someone to video us.  Dusty’s run, much to my surprise, was a qualifying run and garnered us a second place.  I almost pulled him at the startline of this run because he had gotten all the way to the first jump, breaking his sit and being told to sit, stay two or three times.  However, since he was sitting and managed to sit there when I asked him if he was ready, I decided to do the run.

The first clip is Dusty’s last leg for his Open JWW title.  The second is a non-qualifying run in Excellent JWW.  I’m afraid both dogs were badly impaired by their handler on this particular run.  No guts, no glory.  I just didn’t run boldly enough to get where I had to be on this course.
